fashion friday!

Usually I try to do my own photos for fashion friday, but with starting back to work, working on youtube videos, taking care of my mom & brothers and just a lot of extra work with CBP I fail at getting my photos ready in time. I promise to do better and get some personal photos up asap!!

But for this fashion friday I wanted to share my favorite fashion blogs :) People who inspire me to be not only creative with my wardrobe but who have encouraged me to share my own style.

Meet Anna from In Honor of Design. She always has tons of DIY & fashion posts and is always a constant inspiration to be creative with what you got. Her style is amazing!

Meet Keiko from Keiko Lynn. Her blog is my most recent love. She's absolutely adorable! Her style is bold and right up my alley.

Holiday shopping is not always the easiest thing to do.

Especially when you have that picky mom, the unsatisfied sister or the grumpy aunt (lol).

Here to make our shopping lives easier is Very!

Jeans: Top Autumn Styles

Jeans are a staple item of most wardrobes. Everyone has their favourite pair, but they will

inevitably rip and wear away and the time will come when a new pair must be bought. There are

many different styles and fashion keeps changing so it can be difficult to find a pair the same as

your beloved old ones.

If this is the case then embrace it, it could be time for a new look! Each cut of jeans can

complement an outfit differently. Here are a few ideas about how to create a new look beginning

with a pair of jeans.

Skinny jeans

A very versatile style, skinny jeans really show off your figure. They look fantastic worn under any

pair of boots. This autumn there are loads of biker style boots in the shops which, when paired

with skinny jeans and a leather jacket, will give you a real rock 'n' roll style.

Or, if you prefer, you can team a black pair with some boots with a stiletto heel, making you the

ultimate femme fatale. If you want to revive that summer feeling pick a pair in a bright colour, just

be careful they don’t clash with the rest of what you’re wearing.

Bootcut jeans

If skinny jeans are not for you, you can go for the more classic style of bootcut jeans. They are

always around somewhere and never really go out of fashion. They are quite an understated and

mature style and as such are great with pretty much anything.

Either keep comfy in a t-shirt or jumper, or dress them up with a blouse and heels. A short jacket

will also look great, especially in a bold colour to counteract the dark shade of your jeans. Because

they flare out slightly at the bottom they will go over any pair of boots and shoes just fine. You

could try to find a pair of cute pumps to match your top.

Flared jeans

Taking inspiration from the 60s, flared jeans can look great if worn right. You must have the

right pair of shoes on to make flared jeans look good: the hem needs to be an inch or less off the

ground, so take a pair with you when going shopping.

High waisted flares look really good with a simple t-shirt or blouse tucked in. Generally the longer

your legs, the more flared you can go. Flared jeans that are skinny at the thigh and do not flare

until the calf look great on anyone.

fashion friday: firmoo review!

Happy Friday everyone!!!

With the growing 'me' in progress (now 7 months!!!) I have really had to be pretty clever with my outfits. So this may seem 'simple' to you, but it was a lot of work to put together lol.

But let me introduce you to one of my favorite accessories with this outfit: my new GLASSES!!! I swear these bad boys have become my favorite overnight! And unlike MOST fashion glasses you buy (like my favorite places: icing, target & charlotte russe) these are so comfortable and don't have that weird glare effect in the sun or foggy look - you know the one where you put them on and it looks like your looking through smeared glass? Yea, ELIMINATED in these cuties!

I am really impressed with the casing it arrived in as well. Not your standard 'hard casing' in my opinion. This casing is soft, light and reminds me of a turtle because it just feels like it's made to last! Sometimes you get those cute cases for your glasses and the hinges wear out or it doesn't close all the way or it ends up with a weird overbite (I hate when that happens the most). But this case feels solid and built to last. Plus you get this super soft little black bag to put your case and glasses into (seriously I carry this thing with me EVERYWHERE now).

By the way, I chose the plaid pattern because it's a little bit different and plaid is kinda my thing. I love the mixture of colors and geometric pattern. Plus it blends some of the prettiest colors :)

And did I mention that I was surprised how fast these got here?!. I think they come from somewhere in China, but I got them within a week! And the representatives are SUPER responsive and helpful.

Now onto my outfit and styling of these lovely plaids.

I seriously hate this up-close and too-personal photo but the hubby loved it so ... here you go.
